According to the latest reports HTC is working on a 5-inch handset called “Hima,” which should be launched in March 2015 and may be coming to all major carriers in the U.S. The word “Hima” is a code-name, not a final name.
The Hima will come with a 5-inch Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC containing a 2.0GHz quad-core processor and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 20.7-megapixel camera, 13-megapixel or UltraPixel front-facing camera, VoLTE/CA/LTE Cat. 6 support, 2,840 mAh battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0 on top.
The Snapdragon 810 processor has lots of memory bandwidth (two 64-bit channels of DDR4 at 1600MHz, double the bandwidth of today’s top-end Snapdragon 805), and a more powerful Adreno 430 GPU. This makes resource-intensive games and apps run with the greatest of ease on a 1080p screen.
There’ll also be a “Hima_Ace” release, indicating a device like the HTC One E8. This will be cheaper than the flagship, with slightly less impressive specifications, released in china with dual-SIM functionality. This will be the first flagship in several years that will not have a “Mini” release pushed up alongside it. This will be targeted at emerging China and will probably be released in other locations across Asia.
Last week, the specs of the HTC One (M9) had appeared online. HTC One M9 was rumored with 5.5-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 805 CPU, 3GB of RAM, a 16MP rear camera, and a beefy 3,500mAh battery. If the report is to be believed, HTC will launch its next flagship at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 takes place between March 2nd and March 5th in Barcelona, Spain. The company is even expected to unveil some new Desire phones at the event. The HTC Hima might be replacing the HTC M9, if these leaks are true.
