The much awaited Android KitKat update for the LG G2 smartphone is rolling out for the International devices, and this device is going to get the direct Android 4.4.2 update from the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and thus the 4.3 version is being skipped here. The rollout would happen progressively in different places around the world, and the western countries are receiving it first, and it would eventually be available for the devices in the other countries too.

The Android KitKat update to the LG G2 includes the following changes and updates to the OS:
- Improved user interface: The user interface of the LG G2 after the Android 4.4 update is said to have improvements in the performance as well as looks. There is a restyled status bar as well as navigation bars, and a new full-screen mode, improved closed captioning support, and stronger security.
- Battery efficiency: The battery efficiency of the G2 is improved with this update, and this helps in playing music more efficiently and it supports battery-saving location mode, extending battery life.
- Processing speed: The processing speed of the smartphone improves where the apps are said to become 17% faster than before, and the web browsing speed too is improved with the Chromium engine.
- Cloud printing: The printing in cloud is possible with the Google Cloud Printer which would establish a connection either with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity.
- Knock-on: The Knock On feature for unlocking the screen is enhanced with a better responsiveness.
The update might be rolled out any time soon if you are using the International variant of the LG G2, and if you don’t see the notification already, then you might need to go to Settings and manually check for any available update.

To check manually for the Android update in your LG G2, you need to go to Settings > General > About phone > Update Center > Software Update and in this, press “Check now for update”. If at all there is an update available for your device, do take a backup before you hit the update button.
