Nokia X Internal Configuration Details – OS, RAM, Chipset and Camera

The Nokia X Smartphone was launched in India for Rs. 8599, and the device has got the mixed responses mainly because of the forked Android OS, as well as for the pricing. Although many would still be happy to see that there are signs of Android finally in the brand that they had trusted for years, but will the device be able to deliver something that justifies the pricing? We tried to install the CPU identifier app and checked the internal details to understand what all powers the device.

The device also features GPRS, EDGE, W-CDMA/UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, MBMS baseband modem. Now, talking about the actual strength that the phone has got, it’s all physical and external, but not internal. You could just drop this phone anywhere and it would still work perfectly, and that is what the Nokia devices are famous for. But given the internal specs such as the RAM and the basic processor, you won’t be able to do much and the high-end games would be a little laggy.

The RAM is what won’t impress us at all. It’s just 512MB and of which, again you get to use only around 380MB because the other 130MB is used up by the system processes. We tried to play a couple games and then multitask a little, and the Clean Master app that we installed to check the RAM availability, showed a warning that over 80% of RAM is already being used. So basically, you can’t do a lot with the Nokia X when it comes to multitasking.

The rear side of the Nokia X has got the 3-megapixel camera with no flash support, and the camera has fixed focus. The video recording can be done to the best of 480p resolution. Do check out the Nokia X FAQ that we made based on the user questions, to understand about the device before you think of purchasing one.
