Entry-Level Philips S226M with 5″ Display & 4G-LTE Certified by TENAA

These days we see many smartphones from various brands passing through benchmarking sites that reveal most of the information about the upcoming smartphone before they are officially released. Today, a new entry-level smartphone from Philips called as Philips S226M has received the TENAA certification that gave us the glimpse of the device and revealed few key features. Earlier, we exclusively reported about a premium tablet from Philips with model number S711L listed on TENAA. The S711L tablet will feature all-metal body design, 3GB RAM, 7-inch full-HD display and is expected to be launched soon.

As per the TENAA listing, the Philips S226M will feature a 5-inch (800×480 pixels) WVGA TFT display and offers a pixel density of 189ppi. Under the hood, it comes powered by an unknown quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz clubbed with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and also includes an externalSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 32GB. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based company’s customized UI out of the box. It includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE/3G HSPA+, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and microUSB 2.0 port.

On the camera department, the smartphone will sport a 2MP rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP VGA front-facing camera for video chats and selfie clicks. Its dimensions measure 141.5 x 69.8 x 8.8 mm weighs around 135 grams and is listed in Black color option. Apart, from this, no other details about the smartphone are revealed. The company has confirmed none of the above details but as it has now received the TENAA certification we can expect to be launched soon.
