Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Gets Official Gingerbread 2.3.4 Update with DDKQ5

Procedure to update Galaxy Ace S5830 to DDKQ5:

  • So, before you proceed you will have to first download the DDKQ5 Gingerbread 2.3.4 Package in your computer which is basically the zip file. Once the file is downloaded, you need to place the same so that it will be easier to locate the same.

  • After this you need to right click on the same and need to select the option of “Extract Files” after which choose the path of the desktop in one folder which you need to manually enter the path. Please note that in the process of unzipping you will be asked to enter the password wherein you need to enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas. Once it’s done, you will see the files which are as shown in the below image wherein there will be 3 files in all including the Odin file plus 4 files which are the firmware related files.

Now, once the files have been successfully extracted, you will now have to turn Off the phone so that you can now enter into the recovery mode. The download mode can be entered by first turning Off the phone and then pressing  down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.

  • Now, after this you will see that a green robot will be coming up as shown in the above screen shot. Just in case if the device boots in the normal mode then again you need to follow the above thing to enter into the download mode. It is very important to enter into the download mode before proceeding to the procedure which is mentioned below. For your convenience we have also compiled a short video wherein we will see on how you can exactly enter into the download mode.

  • Now, next up as soon as you enter into the download mode as mentioned in the below process you need to now open the Odin in your computer after which you need to proceed to connect your phone with the computer with the help of USB cable while the Odin is opened in the computer.

  • As soon as you connect the phone in the download mode to the computer, the ID : COM block in the Odin will turn yellow which will mean that all the required drivers have been installed for updating the phone and you are now ready to proceed for loading the files.

  • Now, in Odin click on the “OPS” file and then choose the file which is named as “Cooper_v1.0.ops” after which you will have to tick on the “One Package” option and then you will see that the option of “One Package” which is there at the bottom of the Odin will be enabled after which just tick on the “One Package” and select the file which is named as “S5830DDKQ5_S5830ODDKQ5_S5830DDKQ5_HOME”. Please note that all the files will be there in the folder which you have extracted the downloaded zip file contents.

  • Now once you choose the files as mentioned above, you will now have to click on the “Start” after double checking the files which you have selected. It will take a maximum of 5 – 10 minutes of time to finish the process of firmware updation. As soon as the firmware update process is completed you can then see that a Blue colored box will be shown in the Odin which will mean that the firmware update has been successfully installed.
  • Please note that upon the successful completion of the firmware upgrade, the device will be restarted and then you will have to turn off the phone so as to enter into the recovery mode.
  • To enter into the recovery mode, you will have to press UP on Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Upon entering the recovery mode, you will have to choose the options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.

  • Galaxy Ace will now be rebooting after which you will have to set up your Google accounts etc. Doing this will not only optimize the battery but will also remove all the data flux from your phone. Please note that the image shown below is just for the reference purpose, the actual image may vary. You can refer the below video and check on how you can enter into the recovery mode.

Note: Please note that after clearing the cache you will have to reconfigure the APN settings after updating the firmware to access the data services and the Internet services as all the Internet APN settings will be reset. You will have to contact your Service provider to get more info on the APN Settings. Not to forget also configure the MMS Settings.
