Earlier Jul 3: Today we got another Samsung smartphone spotted on the internet, this time it is the Galaxy J2 with the model number SM-J200F. There are rumours that the few units are shipped to India for testing, with that we can expect the launch of the device anytime soon. And today the benchmark results for the Galaxy J2 appear in the Geekbench database.
According to the result, the smartphone comes powered by a 32-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with 1GB of RAM and runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI. The earlier leaks suggest that the device sports a 4.7-inch qHD resolution display.
Most of the specs are same as on Galaxy J1, except the 4.3-inch display and 768MB of Ram what we seen on the J1. It was launched in India for the price of Rs. 9,990 which felt somewhat heavy priced because the other brands like Xiaomi, Lenovo, YU and few others are offering HD display and with a better camera and processor. Samsung needs to look at their devices price to performance ratios without which it cannot sustain in the entry-level and mid-range segments.
Samsung sent out the testing units for Bangalore and Delhi from its headquarters in South Korea. The pricing mentioned for the devices sent to Bangalore is double than the price of units sent to Delhi. We can expect to hear some information regarding this smartphone within few weeks from now.
