Procedure to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with Jellybean 4.1.2 XWLSN Firmware:
- Download XWLSN Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware Package and Odin in your computer. Once you have downloaded these both files, extract the same to the desktop preferably.
- Open Odin in your computer and close KIES and Antivirus tools for a while till the firmware upgrade process is done. Turn Off your Galaxy S2 so that it can be entered in the Download Mode. Download Mode in Galaxy S2 can be entered by pressing the Volume Down rocker key + Menu Button and holding these both, press the power button at the same time.
- Once the device is entered in the Download Mode you will see the Green Robot, connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable to see the ID : COM section in Odin turning Yellow / Green. The color change of ID : COM section will indicate that all the drivers are installed successfully.
- Click on “PDA” option in Odin to select the tar file which you will get from the extracted firmware package to click on “Start”. Ensure that you are not changing any other options in Odin.
- It will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the update. Once the firmware is updated successfully, the device will reboot on its own. Disconnect the device from computer only when you see the home screen or Language selection option in your phone.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
- Once the firmware update is applied successfully, you can check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where the current firmware will be mentioned as XWLSN Jellybean 4.1.2.
