Procedure to update Samsung Galaxy S with HTC Sense ROM:
- So, before you proceed to the following of instructions, you will have to ensure that you are on the XXJVS 2.3.5 firmware version and also you will have to note that if just in case if you are on other firmware then you need to first update with the XXJVS 2.3.5 version of firmware.

- After downloading the HTC Sense ROM for Galaxy S, you will now have to connect the phone with the help of USB cable to the computer and then you will have to ensure that the USB Debugging Mode is turned ON in the phone. USB Debugging can be turned On from the path Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Ensure that the USB Debugging option is ticked.
- After ensuring that the USB Debugging is turned on, you will now need to connect USB cable with the Computer and phone to copy the downloaded zip file. So, once you are done with the copying of the file, ensure that you haven’t placed the same deep into the folders.
- Now, as soon as you copy this file you will now have to remove the connected USB cable and need to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer to the video below to know more on how you can enter into the recovery mode. Just in case if the phone starts in the normal mode then you will have to again start the phone into the recovery mode.
- Now, in the recovery mode, you will have to select the options which are “install zip from SD card” which you can select using the Volume up / down key and can select the option by pressing the Power button which is there on the right hand side of the phone. After this you will have to choose the option of “choose zip from SD Card” after which it will show all the zip files which are present in your phone along with other files which are there in your device.
- Now, select the file named as “HTCSense_for_SamsungGalaxyS_GTI9000.zip” and then after that you will see that the process of firmware update will be started and then the as soon as the process gets done select the option of “Go Back” and then reboot the phone if it doesn’t reboot on its own. Please note that the below image is just for the purpose of representation purpose.
- So, once you select the file, the process of firmware update begins and there you go you will see that the device will be rebooting which will mean that the update has been successfully updated in the phone and after that you will have to enter in the Language preference as well as login to the Google Account by entering the Login credentials.
- Now, once the firmware is successfully updated, you will now have to proceed to check with the version, to check with the same you will have to go to the path of Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version where you will find the version of Android OS where it will show that you are on HTC Sense ROM. Please note that you can also make out from the home screen itself whether you are on HTC Sense ROM or not as the overall home screen too gets a makeover and resembles more of an HTC smart phone.
In an unlikely event if you are feeling that you are getting lesser battery life than before even after 4 – 5 complete charge cycles then you will have to re calibrate the battery by following simple to follow instructions.
