Pre Upgrade Requisites:
- So, before you proceed for the actual instructions, you will have to note that the data which is there in the phone will be getting lost, the same will have to be backed up so that just in case if the data gets lost which is very LIKELY then you can easily restore the backup into your phone. The best part is that you don’t need a rocket science to create a backup which can be restored back easily, all you need to do is to just follow the below tit bits which are mentioned below.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Now, once you have created the backup of all your data, it’s now time to ensure that the phone is charged to a minimum of 90% so as to just ensure that the battery doesn’t needs to be re calibrated for battery performance as you will be updating the custom ROM, it will require you to maintain a maximum battery life preferably.
- It is very important that the version on which you are on should be of XXJVR 2.3.4 and not any other version. To check on which version you are on you will have to go to the path of Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version where you will find the version of Android OS where it will show XXJVR 2.3.4. If there is any other version then you will have to update your phone with the same.
Special Instructions for those on any Custom ROM or on Simply Honey 5.0 version:
- First up you will have to ensure that you get into the recovery mode and then after that in the recovery mode, choose the options like Wipe Cache partition after which you need to reboot your device by selecting reboot system now so that all the all the cache files are deleted from the phone and this new version of custom ROM can be accommodated and installed in a cleaned manner.
- (Optional) Another thing is that in the recovery mode you also will have to clear the dalvik cache from the recovery mode which then clears up all the raw cache content of that particular firmware file.
