Procedure to install the Nexus S ROM in Galaxy SL I9003:
- Before proceeding to the process, you will have to update your Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 with XXKPE version and then after that you will have to root the same. Please note that after updating and rooting from the below mentioned links, you will now need to proceed to next step.
- After this now, you will have to DOWNLOAD NEXUS S ROM for Galaxy SL I9003 Zip file in your computer and then you need to ensure that you are not modifying it in any manner or say even renaming it. Once you are done with this, you will now have to connect the phone to the computer with the help of USB cable and then you will have to move this downloaded Zip file into your phone as it is. .
- Now, as soon as you copy this file you will now have to remove the connected USB cable and need to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer to the video below to know more on how you can enter into the recovery mode. Just in case if the phone starts in the normal mode then you will have to again start the phone into the recovery mode.
- Now, in the recovery mode, you will have to select the options which are “install zip from SD card” which you can select using the Volume up / down key and can select the option by pressing the Power button which is there on the right hand side of the phone. After this you will have to choose the option of “choose zip from SD Card” after which it will show all the zip files which are present in your phone along with other files which are there in your device. Now, select the file named as “GALAXY_SLI9003_
NexusROM.zip ” and then after that you will see that the process of firmware update will be started and then the as soon as the process gets done select the option of “Go Back” and then reboot the phone if it doesn’t reboot on its own. Please note that the below image is just for the purpose of representation purpose.
- Now, once the process of firmware update is completed you will now have to click on the “Go Back” option and then you need to choose the option of “reboot system now” which will then reboot the phone. Now, after this again you will have to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. In the recovery mode, you will need to choose the options like “Wipe Cache data” and “Clear the cache”. After this select the option of “Go Back” and select “reboot system now” to reboot the system.
- To check whether the firmware has been successfully updated or not then you will have to go to the path of Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version where you will find that you are on the Nexus S ROM.
