Earlier Dec 26, 2015: The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi has gained a lot of popularity all over the world as it has been launching the smartphones at affordable prices. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 that launched earlier this year has been the most successful device, and it seems like the company is all set to launch the successor of the handset called as Xiaomi Redmi 3. Recently, a new smartphone from the brand with model number 2015811 has received the TENAA certification and is alleged to be the possible Redmi 3 smartphone.
According to the TENAA listing, the Redmi 3 will feature a slightly bigger 5-inch (720×1280 pixels) HD IPS display when compared to the 4.7-inch HD display seen on the Redmi 2. Under the hood, is the unknown 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with 2GB of RAM. The device will feature hybrid sim slot that lets you use a microSd card instead of the second sim.
On the camera part, the device will sport a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter for video chats and perfect selfie images. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, Infrared and microUSB port. It comes with 16G of built-in storage with microSD card support for further expansion upto 32GB.
The design of the Redmi 3 looks premium as it is expected to sport a full-metal body, unlike the polycarbonate body seen on the earlier launched Redmi 2. The handset will come backed by a 4000mAh battery that can easily last for 1-2 days on mixed usage. Its dimensions measure 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs around 143 grams. The device will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop based MiUi 7 out of the box and comes in Dark Grey, Silver and Champagne Gold color variants.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 with these specifications looks like a powerful entry-level smartphone and is sure to be successful if the affordable price tag is maintained. Although the company officially confirms nothing, as TENAA certifies it we can expect the device to launch in coming months. Stay tuned for more updates in coming days!
