Is Google coming with something BIG? We have access to the latest YouTube App which comes with the version of 10.02.3 versus the current version of YouTube app in the Play Store which comes with the version number as 6.0.3. While it’s a huge jump and with a handful of new features, let’s check out on what are the visible the visible things which come as a new in this app.
What’s Fresh in 10.02.3:
Youtube 10.02.3 comes with an all new share option as is much easier and styled in a grid rather than just a list which is much intuitive than before. Also, the “Copy URL” option is now at the top so that you can easily share the same with the help of an SMS or with the help of some apps like twitter, SMS, WhatsApp etc. Similarly, Google has also implemented these changes in Google drive app. We have compared both, the new as well as the older version of Share options of YouTube.
In terms of search as well, we can now see a considerable change in the design as shown in the below screen captures. While it’s not a big functional change or so, but this is one of the aspects when we talk about the change. Also, the best part is that the Voice support is back for the default keyboard of Google.
Also, if you check out carefully, the icons too are now changed a bit and are now aligning to the new design which Google has released in its latest Material Design guidelines.
While it’s not yet confirmed yet, but the experience in some of the older devices is now improved than previous one as the new app comes with various new strings along with the newly compiled code of YouTube. Most importantly, these are the only visible and notable changes which are there in this app, going down the line, we may see some triggers on the new features in the YouTube app.
With more and more low end devices coming in, the minimum hardware requirements are changing and thus putting a lot of pressure on developers to support few of the devices where challenges are different.
