Gionee Gpad G5 Launched with 5.5″ HD Display, Hexa-core Processor – Specs & Pricing

Gionee has announced the new phablet in India, which goes by name Gpad G5 as it is the successor to the company’s previous phablet, Gpad G4 that was launched in February this year. The device is priced at INR 14,999 and the Chinese manufacturer says that it will be available in country by next week via both online as well as offline retailers.

Gionee GPAD G5 The Gionee Gpad G5 specs sheets includes a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels resolution) display with AGC Dragontail glass protection and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Hexa-core processor that is coupled with ARM-Mali 450 GPU. The device runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box with Amigo UI on top of it. On the storage front, the device packs a 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

In the camera department, the device sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. For connectivity, it offers various set of options including 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/A-GPS. Its dimensions are 157.3 x 77.6 x 7.9 mm, and it weighs around 104.6 grams only. All this is powered by a 2400 mAh battery, which is rated to give up to 288 hours of standby time, up to 15 hours of talk time on 2G, and up to 12 hours of talk time on 3G network.

On the comparison note, the device will be directly competing with the likes of Asus Zenfone 5, Moto G and the popular Xiaomi Mi 3 in India. With Moto G 16GB variant available at a sale price of INR 11,999 and Asus Zenfone 5 at INR INR 9,999 are the viable competitors while Xiaomi Mi 3 is the flagship phone competing with mid as well as high end devices at a price tag of INR 13,999 in India.

Gionee has been in the Indian market for quite a time now, but the company is still far away from making a good name in the Indian community. With company’s excellent line of smartphones including Gionee Pioneer P2S, Pioneer P4, Elife S5.5, Elife E7, and Elife E7 Mini are some of the handsets available in the country, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will gradually mark its territory among Indian consumers.

The Gionee Gpad G5 will be available in two color options, Black and White for the price tag of INR 14,999 on all leading online and offline retailers by next week.
