How to Root Galaxy Nexus on any Firmware – Tutorial

Express Pre Requisites:

  • Charge left in your device should be at least 60% so as to ensure that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the process of rooting process.
  • You will be requiring the active USB connectivity between your computer and your device as you will be requiring to copy one zip file in your phone.
  • Enable the USB debugging in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked. USB Debugging Mode can only be enabled once you disconnect the phone from computer. USB Debugging should be ticked.
  • (Optional) Though there will not be any data loss, but just in case if you wish to back up the data then you can do the same by using the PC Suite or by using the below mentioned steps if you wish to back up the data manually.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
