Disclaimer: In the due course of this article it will require you to Open and make some hardware changes, so please note that you should be qualified enough to understand things or else it can prove to be very dangerous to your Google TV. Please note that proceeding to this article would mean that you agree to the conditions. This procedure is strictly not for the users who are not qualified or understand what we have mentioned in the due course of this article.

The reason why this rooting as well as the installation of applications is possible is that the Logitech hasn’t disabled the UART Port which is there on the circuitry board of the Google Logitech Revue and also it allows you to root the shell recovery mode. Please note that some portions of the script do things such as flash parts of the NAND so make sure you do not short circuit your box or accidentally remove power during the manual update process.

Tools Required in the Process of the Rooting and Installing Apps in Google TV:

Soldering IRON (lesser wattage with thin Soldering Iron size is recommended),

USB > TTL or the Similar Board / Setup,

Terminal program or Linux or Putty for Windows, USB Drive (2GB+ is recommended),

Philips ScrewDriver
