- Lava launched a new Android One smartphone called ‘Pixel V1’ with Google’s partnership. It is priced at Rs.11,349 which is almost double than the previously Android One device, but it is justified by the mid-range specs and good build quality. The Pixel V1 sports a 5.5-inch HD display with very thin bezels and comes powered by a MediaTek quad-core 1.3GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and battery of 2,650mAh capacity.

- Samsung is expected to launch its Galaxy Note 5 on August 13, as the company confirmed that the ‘Next Galaxy Unpacked’ event will be held on that day. As per the benchmarking site ‘Geek Bench’, the Galaxy Note 5 will feature 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and comes powered by Exynos 7420 processor. The same processor that is used in Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

- Motorola this week launched the Moto G (3rd Gen) in an event held in India. It comes in two variants one with 2GB RAM + 8GB storage , while other variant sports 2GB of RAM + 16GB storage. The base variant is priced at $179 (Rs.11,999). It comes with IPx7 certification that makes it water-resistant. There is a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Its note to mention that the device is not dust proof.

- DooGee, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, announced a new sub-brand called HomTom. The device under this brand will come with massive battery capacities, and the first device from it is ‘HomTom HT6’. It has a huge 6,250mAh battery and can be charged from 0% to 75% in just 30 minutes with the help of MediaTek PumpExpress Plus technology. Even with such a large battery it measures just 9.9mm thick. Coming to the other specifications, it come packed with mid-range specs and runs on latest Android 5.1 Lollipop.

- The OnePlus launched the OnePlus Two after creating much Hype. As earlier mentioned the device sports a fingerprint scanner, 4GB od LPDDR3 RAM, Type-C USB Port. The 16GB variant is priced at $329 (Rs.22,999), while 64GB variant costs you $389 (Rs.24,999). It will be put on sale from 11 August. The device has 5.5-inch Full HD display even though may expected to OnePlus Two to include a Quad HD display. It also got a bigger 3,300mAh battery when compared to the 3,000mAh battery found on the OnePlus One.

- Meizu launched ‘Meizu M2’ with some impressive specs for just $96 in China. It sports as 5-inch HD display and comes powered by a MediaTek MT6735 processor with 2GB RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and a battery of 2,500mAh capacity. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based FlymeUI 4.5. There is an oval shaped physical home button same as on M2 Note but misses the fingerprint sensor.

- As we earlier reported that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 5 on August 13, with the recent leaks we also expect the company to launch the Galaxy S6 Edge+ on that same day. Though there are no major differences between the S6 Edge and S6 Edge+, the latest smartphone will feature a much bigger display with the edge screen on both sides. As per the leak, the 32GB model of Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be priced at 800 Euros, which translates to $880 that makes it cheaper than the retailer price of Galaxy S6 Edge’s 850 Euros.

- After launching the Moto G (3rd Gen) in India, the company launched the Moto X Play and Moto X Style in the US. Both the Moto X Play and Moto X Style are priced at $299 and $399 respectively. The Moto X Style features some flagship specs; the Moto X play comes with some stripped down features but with a 21% larger battery than the Moto X Style. The Moto X Play will be sold in the US, hinting that the company made it for price sensitive markets.

- Huawei G3 launched with high-end specs, it will be available in two variants, 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage for $370, while the 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage variant costs $434. The device comes with 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 615 SOC, 13MP rear camera with OIS, 5MP front camera, and a 3,000mAh battery. It is dual SIM device and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat.
