Asus Confirms Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update for its Smartphones

Recently, OnePlus announced its schedule for Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on OnePlus One and OnePlus Two smartphones. Today, Asus has officially announced their schedule for Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its Zenfone series smartphones. While the company did not mention any specific dates, but we can expect to be rolled out sometime in 2016.

The devices confirmed to revceive the update are:

  • PadFone S (PF500KL)
  • ZenFone2 (ZE550ML/ZE551ML)
  • ZenFone2 Deluxe / Special Edition (ZE551ML)
  • ZenFone2 Laser (ZE500KG/ZE500KL/ZE550KL/ZE600KL/ZE601KL)
  • ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)
  • Earlier leaks suggested that Asus will bring Marshmallow update for all its latest smartphones in the Zenfone series. It was also mentioned that the earlier launched ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 will also receive the update in its the second phase, but nothing is confirmed officially by the company.

    The Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with a bundle of new features like – app permissions, web experience, app links, mobile payments, fingerprint support, USB Type-C port support, Google Now on Tap feature, and Do Not Disturb mode. It also includes a new battery saving feature called Doze mode that will increase the battery performance of the Android smartphones.
