The volatile Indian tablet market is expected to grow bigger in the coming days as the competition is already set blazed with cheaper tablets. And who can forget Aakash tablet! After much of the hype, ups and downs, UK based Datawind company who have bid to provide tablets to the Indian government have come up with two new tablets which are priced in the range of Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000.
These two tablets will be dubbed as the Ubislate 7 and 7C these tablet will be out with 7 inches display screen with Cortex A8 processor clocked at 800 Mhz along with 256 Mb of RAM. Straight away it’s seen with good enough processor and battery with 3200 mAh is very good specifications accordingly to the price tag it has. But unlike other tablets like Daksha, Micromax Funbook, Karbonn Smart Tab 1 all comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich this one still uses the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS which is not the right OS for the tablet PCs but again we think that price would have made the difference.
When it comes to internet connectivity it has both the options of Wi Fi as well as the GPRS too. Until now similar features but the only difference is that Ubislate 7 comes with 2 GB of internal memory and has resistive touch screen but Ubislate 7C comes with capacitive touchscreen with 4 GB of internal memory on board.
Datawind has also announced that they will provide GPRS data plan to these tablets of up to 2 GB with a charge of Rs 100 per month via Airtel. During the launch they also said that they will tie up with many other companies to bring more online portal, education content and offers. This tablet will also come with support of many Indian languages like Hindi, Gujrati, Punjabi, Marathi, Telugu and lot more. The company hasn’t listed anything on their website and we need to wait until they make online booking available. All the specifications sounds good but until we see the tablet on our hand nothing is confirmed.
Datawind and Indian government last year launched the Aakash tablet which is the world’s cheapest tablet coming out at just $ 50 in India and $ 25 with discount to students.
