- The new specifications of OnePlus 2 which are confirmed this week are the battery capacity and the price range of the device. It comes equipped with a battery of 3,300mAh capacity, and there will be no heart rate sensor on the device. Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus confirmed that the upcoming device will be priced lower than $450. The earlier confirmed specifications are 4GB DDR4 RAM and Type-C USB port. It also has the fingerprint scanner, but the placement of the sensor is not confirmed.

- After announcing Android M Technical Preview at I/O 2015, Google this week released an update for the first time. The latest update comes with the build number MPZ79M for Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and Nexus9; for Nexus player it comes with MPZ79N. It comes included with the updated Google Play Services 7.6 and will be an Over-The-Air (OTA) update.

- A higher version for upcoming flagship smartphone from Xiaomi got certified by TENAA this week. The device ‘Mi 5 Plus’ sports 5.7-inch 2K display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2GHz and 4GB DDR4 RAM. There is 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front camera. It will also come with Qualcomm Snapdragon Sense ID 3D fingerprint technology that is more accurate and secure.

- LG announced another variant of its LG G4 called as ‘LG G4 Beat.’ This is the same smartphone with launched in Europe and CIS region as LG G4s. It comes with 5.2-inch Full HD display and 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor. It runs on latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based LG UX 4.0. The pricing of the device is still unknown and might be launched in few selected countries by the end of this month.

- This week there are few leaks about the Samsung Galaxy A8 that, once launched this device will be the thinnest smartphone ever launched by the company. Rumors suggest that the Galaxy A8 will have just 5.9 mm of thickness. It features 5.7-inch Full HD display and comes with 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor. There is 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a battery of 3,050mAh capacity.

- The images of Huawei Mate 8 are leaked online, from the images we can see the design of the smartphone is similar to that of Mate 7. It comes in a metal body, and the fingerprint scanner is placed below the rear camera. The device is rumoured to sport a 6-inch display and powered by 64-bit Kirin 950 octa core processor. There will be a 20.7MP rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8MP front camera.

- Xolo, the Indian smartphone manufacturer, launched its new sub-brand ‘BLACK’ this week. The first smartphone from this brand will be sold exclusively through Flipkart and priced at Rs. 12,999 ($205). It sports a dual rear camera setup sporting a 13MP and 2MP sensor, which the company says it can focus in just 0.15 sec. The specifications of the device are 5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based Hive UI 1.5.

- According to the reports, Samsung will launch its next flagship device Galaxy Note 5 in mid-August. Earlier Samsung used to launch its Galaxy Note devices at IFA, Berlin, which happens in September. The reason to pre-pone the launch is all due to gain the advantage over the Apples iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
