  • After several leaks, this week we saw the launch of Meizu MX5 in China. As soon as the launch of this smartphone, rumours started about the Meizu MX5 Pro. The leaks suggest that the device will be launched on 28th of this month. The rumoured specifications of the device are 6-inch Quad HD display along with Exynos 7420 processor and 4GB of RAM. It also comes with the fingerprint scanner integrated into the oval shaped home button as seen on the Meizu MX5.

  • Oppo came with the launch of Mirror 5s in Taiwan this week. It has a diamond shaped pattern on the back of the device, the metal frame surrounding the device might saved the back panel from smudges and scratches. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based ColorOS 2.1. It has a 5-inch HD display with 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC and 2GB of RAM. It supports dual SIM dual standby and comes with 4G LTE connectivity.

  • Xiaomi launched its first device outside of Asia this week. The company launched its entry-level smartphone RedMi 2 in Brazil for $160. It is also manufactured locally to avoid the high import taxes. The company also has plans to enter Mexico and Colombia in the coming days, but we can expect that this is not going to happen anytime soon. Along with the smartphone, Xiaomi also launched the Mi Powerbank and Mi Band for $30 and $32 respectively.

  • According to rumours, Samsung’s next Tizen running device will be the “Samsung Z3”, which will be successor for Z1 that launched earlier this year. It will come powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC and 1GB of RAM. There is an 8GB of internal storage, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front-facing camera and 2,000mAh battery. It runs on Tizen 3.0 OS out-of-the-box and supports 4G LTE. The device might unveil at Samsung’s “Tizen Developer Summit 2015” which will be held later this month in India.

  • Few leaks suggest Asus will soon launch a mid-range smartphone in its ZenFone lineup. The device called ‘ZenFone Go’ along wth the model number ZC500TG will also be the first smartphone from Asus to feature a MediaTek chipset. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720) display and powered by MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor along with Mali-400 MP2 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage. There is an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 2MP selfie camera. Interestingly, there is no 4G LTE connectivity on this device.

  • The latest flagship Huawei, ‘Honor 7’ is officially launched this week. There are three variants based on the internal storage and connectivity of the device. It has 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display and will come powered by 64-bit HiSilicon Kirin 935 chipset and 3GB of RAM. There is microSD card slot present on all the three variants. The prices vary from $322 to $400 where the base model will have only 16GB of storage, and the high-end model comes with whooping 64GB of storage.

  • Images of a BlackBerry device running on Android OS is spotted online. The rumours suggested that comes with a slide-out keyboard and called as ‘BlackBerry Venice’. It might also be an AT&T exclusive device. In an interview given to media publication, John Chen, CEO of BlackBerry, said the company is not opposed to building an Android device, as long as it’s secure. The upcoming device might sport a 5.4-inch QHD display with curved edges on both sides. It will be powered by Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with 2GB of RAM.

  • This week, OnePlus announced that the OnePlus will feature a fingerprint scanner though we don’t know where it will be placed. The company said that the fingerprint scanner on the OnePlus 2 is the most advanced and can even unlock your device faster than the TouchID present on the phone.   • A new Motorola device with Quad HD display and Snapdragon 810 processor spotted on GeekBench database. According that information, the device with a codename ‘Motorola Kinzie’ features 5.5-inch Quad HD display and Snapdragon 810 processor along with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There will be a 20MP rear camera with 4K recording capabilities and 5MP front-facing camera. It is expected to be the next Droid device from Motorola.

  • Lava to launch a new Android One device on 14th July for Rs. 12,000 ($190). Compared to the first set of Android devices it is priced almost double. The specifications of the device are a 5-inch display, MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. Google also wants to sell the devices offline as well as online and expected to spend around $10-15 million on the marketing and promotions of the Android One platform. Lava wants to make the device as an affordable Nexus device by releasing the software and security updates frequently.

  • Archos launched a new device ’50D Helium’ in the US, it is priced at $129 and has dual SIM dual standby capability. The company provides two swappable back covers in the colours Storm Blue and Stone Grey within the package. The specifications of the device are 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and a battery of 2,100 mAh capacity. For this price, the company offers 13MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
