- Gionee has launched the latest smartphone in its Marathon series – Gionee M5 with 6020mAh capacity. The Marathon devices are well known for their huge battery capacities and the latest in this series, Gionee M5 comes with dual batteries each with 3100mAh capacity. The M5 has a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720) AMOLED display, 1.3GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The company stated that the M5 will give two days of battery backup under heavy usage and four days for infrequent usage on a single charge. It comes equipped with fast charge and the device can also charge other devices as well.

- ZTE Star 3, which is the upcoming flagship from ZTE could be the world’s first smartphone to come with 4K resolution. According to the reports the device comes with a 5.5-inch display with 2160×3840 resolution and a pixel density of 808ppi. To keep the battery consumption down the device comes with ‘new crystal structure’ which doesn’t drain the battery even with all those pixels. The device will set standards in the smartphone displays once it launched.

- The launch of next flagship from OnePlus is expected to take place on 28 June in Hong Kong. OnePlus 2 which is expected run on Android 5.1 Lollipop is to be powered by Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 processor. Recently the alleged benchmark scores of 1256 for single core and 4093 for multi-core are leaked. The results also list the RAM as 2.7GB, which can be 3GB of total RAM. There is no official information from the company about the exact specifications of the device.

- The Galaxy Note 5 is rumoured to be the first device from Samsung to sport a USB Type-C port. The Note 5 is expected to unveil at IFA 2015 in September. USB Type-C is smaller than the USB plugs and can use them in any way. The transfer rate of the Type-C cables is 10GBPS, which is double than the 5GBPS transfer rate of USB 3.0. The rumoured specifications of the device include 5.4 or 5.5-inch 4K display and to be powered by Exynos 7422 processor and 4GB of RAM.

- Xiaomi slashed the price of its flagship device Mi 4 in India by Rs. 4,000. The 64GB variant which was launched at Rs. 23,999 is now available for Rs. 19,999 on Flipkart, while 16GB variant still sells at Rs. 17,999. The Mi 4 sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display with a pixel density of 441ppi. It is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset and 3GB of RAM. Earlier the Mi 4 was made available for Rs. 21,999 though for a limited time.

- Coolpad launched a new smartphone ‘Little i’ under its sub-brand Ivvi. The smartphone measures just 4.9mm thick and features low-end specs. It comes with a 5-inch HD display with 2.5G glass on top and is powered by Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The device includes 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. - Oppo this week unveiled two smartphones Neo 5 (2015) and Neo 5s. Both devices come with 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854) IPS display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. These two devices share almost same specifications except the processor. The Neo 5 (2015) is powered by a Mediatek MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, whereas the Neo 5s comes with 64bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The devices come with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 2MP front-facing camera.

- Gionee officially launched its latest flagship Elife E8 in Beijing this week. The device sports a 6-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) display. It is powered by a Mediatek octa-core Helio X10 processor clocked at 2GHz coupled with PowerVR 6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The 23MP rear camera on the device can capture images up to 100MP and can shoot videos in 4K. It includes a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. The battery on the device is of 3,520mAh capacity and the smartphone measures about 9.6mm thick.

- There are constant leaks about the next flagship from Xiaomi. As per the rumours, the Mi5 will be sport a Snapdragon 820 SoC and will be unveiled in September. - Samsung officially launched the Galaxy S6 Active and it will be AT&T exclusive and will be made available in U.S from 12 June. The device comes with the same specs as of the original flagship. The device also meets US Mil-STD-810G standard for withstanding vibration, extreme temperatures, humidity and high altitudes. - Earlier Meizu announced M2 Note, which is the successor of M1 Note. The company confirmed via Weibo that the M2 Note had received over 10 million reservations in just one week. The reservation system in China is not same as Pre-order system; it just denotes that these customers are interested in buying the device once it launched.
